David Joseph Fladung, 91, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington following complications of Parkinson's disease. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Calling hours will begin at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday followed by a prayer service. Private family interment will take place Saturday at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for St. James Church. Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for David's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
He is survived by his four sons, the Rev. Charles J. Fladung of Sigourney, Jay Fladung of Washington, Kerry Fladung and wife Nanette of Sioux City and Alan Fladung and wife Ranee of Wellman; and five grandchildren, Royce Fladung, Roger Fladung and fiancee Kristie Vanston, and Logan Fladung of Sioux City, and David D. Fladung and Amelia Fladung of Wellman.
