Linda L. Markward, 67, of Moline, Ill., formerly of
Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at the
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at
the Ascension Chapel of Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill. Burial is at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is from
4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly
Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 Seventh Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the education foundations of either Rock
Island, Moline, Geneseo or Cedar Rapids Public schools.
Linda Sedore was born Nov. 26, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Leo and Irene Olson Sedore. She attended Augustana
College, where she met Dave Markward.
They married on Nov. 21, 1970, in Cedar
Rapids. Linda operated a day care
center in her home and later worked for the law firm of Brown & Ray in Geneseo, Ill. After moving
to the Quad Cities, she worked for Neil Ferrari State
Farm Insurance, Milan, Ill. Linda and Dave later moved to Cedar Rapids, where she was employed by the Al
Schettler State Farm Insurance Agency.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and boating. Linda had a great passion for small children
and animals, but could best be described as a devoted
wife and mother who dearly loved her family.
Survivors include her husband, Dave; children, Heather (Darin) Cowan, Urbandale, Josh (Julia)
Markward, Chicago, Lindsay Anderson, Milan, and
Brooke Markward, Davenport; and her grandchildren,
Carter and Connor Cowan, Georgia and Hattie
Anderson, and Hawk and River Markward.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
