MARILYN ELAINE CURRY-DOLDER
Oxford
Marilyn Elaine Curry-Dolder, of Oxford, and formerly of Williamsburg, died April 3, 2018, after a long battle with cancer at the hospice unit in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, under the care of Drs. Feeley and Miller and the most caring staff of nurses and nursing assistants.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at St. Mary's Auditorium in Oxford, with the Rev. Randy Harker from Hands of Christ Worship Center officiating. Burial to follow at the Harrington Cemetery in rural Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the auditorium.

Marilyn Elaine Curry-Dolder was born Aug. 20, 1943, to Arnold Bernard and Vera Arlene (Leahy) Brockshus at the family farm in rural Williamsburg, Iowa. She was raised in the farming community and attended grade school at country schools and then graduated from Williamsburg High School.
Marilyn married David J. Curry on June 11, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa County. To this union were born four children, Samuel Lee, Steven Richard, Sherrie Sue and Vickie Kay.
Marilyn spent her adult life raising children while working at several different jobs, including Colony Village, NAPA auto parts stores and clerking at convenience stores, most recently retiring from over 10 years at the Depot in Oxford.
On Oct. 16, 2010, she married Harry Louis Dolder at Hands of Christ Worship Center in Oxford. The couple spent their years together traveling that covered many of the contiguous 48 states plus a yearly flight to Laughlin, Nev., where they enjoyed the gaming and weather. She enjoyed grandchildren, gardening, yard work, mushroom hunting and especially garage sales with her family.
Marilyn's family includes her present husband Harry; son, Steven; daughters, Sherrie Curry (Brett Meade) and Vickie Shimon; three sisters, Barbara (David) Burgy, Doris (Steve) Sawyer and Carol (Dennis) Kempf; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; daughter-in-law, Janelle Curry; two step-sons; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, David; and son, Sam, in 2009.
Marilyn touched many lives during her time on Earth and now celebrates the great reunion with loved ones in heaven.
