MARGARET MARIE CONRAD

Margaret Marie Conrad, 94, passed away Feb. 14, 2018, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Toronto on Monday, Feb. 19, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lowden Cemetery.
Margaret was born Sept. 15, 1923, to Theophil and Irma (Van De Wiele) DeWulf in Wheatland, Iowa. She married Allen Conrad on Nov. 18, 1944, at Toronto, Iowa. He passed away on Dec. 17, 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Gene (Mollie) of Davenport, Howard (Elaine) of Van Horne and Galen (Denise) of Lowden; grandchildren, Kristy (Josh) Doocy, Megan (Andrew) Sczygielski, Daniel (Leslie) Conrad, Michael (Emily) Conrad, Kurt (Justina) Conrad, Jason (Heather) Conrad and Renae (Nathan) Irlmeier; and great-grandchildren, Adelina and Ross Conrad, Drey Doocy, William, Claire, Anna and Maura Sczygielski, Becket Conrad and Patrick Conrad.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Zoe, Modest, Florence, Alice, Joseph, Charles, Arthur, Henry and Raymond.
Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a great work ethic. Allen and she farmed in the Lowden area from 1948 to 1976. She was a member of the Lowden Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
