Bennett: Don’t miss the Progress Iowa Corn Feed
State Rep. Liz Bennett

Nothing says quintessential Iowa summer quite like candidates and corn. Every year Progress Iowa, a statewide advocacy organization, hosts their Corn Feed, an event featuring progressive speakers. This year I'm excited that the Corn Feed will move to Cedar Rapids, and I'm pleased to help host the July 14 event at NewBo City Market, right here in the district I represent.
The fifth annual Corn Feed will feature presidential candidates and provide attendees an opportunity to listen to speeches as well as meet and mingle with the candidates. There will be vendor tables and an activist fair featuring progressive organizations and nonprofits. And campaigns will have tables so that Iowans can learn more about those running for office.
The event is free and open to all who wish to attend. The program will kick off with live music at noon, followed by speakers, and finish at 4 p.m. NewBo will have their usual vendors for dining and shopping, and there will be family-friendly events for guests of all ages.
I'm proud to welcome Progress Iowa to Cedar Rapids and look forward to seeing you at the Corn Feed on Sunday, July 14.
