Hoeger, Gladys M.
Gladys M. Hoeger, 81, of Dyersville, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Ellen Kennedy Living Center, Dyersville.Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a parish Scripture service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Dennis Quint.
Gladys was born on Jan. 25, 1929, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Eulalia (Fangmann) Jasper. Eulalia preceded her in death and Emil married Monica Fangmann, who was the mother that raised Gladys. She married Anthony L. Hoeger on Sept. 18, 1947, in Dyersville. Together they farmed near Worthington, until they moved to Dyersville in 1972.
Gladys worked in the nutrition department at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville. She was also a member of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, having volunteered over 1,000 hours since 1994.
Survivors include her four children, Nancy (Rick) Heim of Farley, Dan (Rosie) Hoeger of Cedar Rapids, Dean Hoeger of Toddville, and Neil (Linda) Hoeger of Dyersville; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ken
(Margie) Jasper of Manchester, and Lloyd (Carol) Jasper of Dyersville; and brothersandsisters-in-law, Vera Curtis of Dyersville, Delores Klostermann of Dubuque, Betty Jasper of Farley, Joe (Lois) Hoeger and Clara Mae Hoeger, all of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the mother who raised her, Monica Jasper; her husband, Tony in 1994; son-in-law, Tom Hoefer; and brothersandsisters-in-law, Bernie (Catherine) Hoeger, Al (Dorothy) Hoeger, Paul Curtis, Vern Klostermann, Roy Jasper and Frank Hoeger.
