Bascom, Timothy Joe
Timothy Joe Bascom, 30, of Independence, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 13, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Sharon Bainbridge. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Pam; mother, Rebecca Bair of Cedar Rapids; father, Curtis Fresh of Aurora, Colo.; stepfather, Allen Dripps of Urbana; siblings, Matthew Bascom of Georgia, Stephanie (Bill) Denney of Okinawa, Japan, Robert (Holly) Dripps of Marion, and Kristin (Bernard) Parrish of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Erin (Tim) Yourison of Texas; mother and father-in-law, Ron and Debbie Michael; and grandparents, Kay Thomsen of Cedar Rapids, Richard Bascom Sr. of Cedar Rapids, Joe Fresh of Marion, and Marshall “Bud” Dripps of Urbana.
Timothy was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Marilyn Stackhouse and Thelma Dripps.
Born Feb. 19, 1982, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Timothy was the son of Curtis Fresh and Rebecca Bascom. On Sept. 18, 2010, he was united in marriage to Pamela Michael in Independence. Timothy worked as a painter and bartender. Timothy's greatest joys were his family, doing things for others and putting a smile on everyone's face. Other joys were golfing, fishing, playing pool, cooking, karaoke, going to the casino and sharing a good bonfire. Timothy's dog. Harley was special to him and his appearance was important.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Timothy's memory.
