Maggie Buresh, 99, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Heritage Specialty Care. Services:
11 a.m. Saturday, St. Paul Catholic Church, Traer, by the Rev. David Kucera. Burial: St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Clutier. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the church after 10 a.m.
Maggie is survived by her daughter, Bev Buresh of Cedar Rapids; son-in-law, Jerry VanDerLeest of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 2007; daughter, Arlene VanDerLeest, in 2008; two brothers; and seven sisters.
Maggie was born on June 7, 1919, the daughter of Anton and Maggie Chizek Vojtech, near Traer and attended rural schools. On Aug. 12, 1940, she married Joseph Buresh at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in rural Clutier.
Maggie was a wonderful homemaker and farm wife. She liked to cook, try new recipes and spend time fishing, and enjoyed embroidery. She always will be remembered for her love of little kids.
