Stepanek, Beverly Jean Carmer
Beverly Jean Carmer Stepanek, 63, of Marion, formerly of Lisbon, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from an acute cerebral hemorrhage. The funeral service for Bev will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Lisbon United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation, Mount Vernon. Her burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Surviving Bev are her husband, Donald; their children, Sherrie (Frank) Swick, Rena (Scott) Jensen and Trent Stepanek; six grandchildren, Morgan, Kali and Nate Jensen and Alex, Emily and Shelby Swick; three sisters, Carolyn Oler, Teresa (Gary) Gordon and Laurie Schulze; three brothers, Delbert Jr. (Janet), Dennis (Carole) and Thomas Carmer; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
Preceding Bev in death were her parents; a brother, Kevin Carmer; and two infant grandchildren, Angel Jo and Franklin Ray Swick Jr.
Beverly was born April 21, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Delbert and Grace (Moore) Carmer.
Don and Bev were married July 22, 1967, in Lisbon, and the couple have lived in Cedar Rapids, Ely, and Marion. After retirement they loved to travel and frequent casinos. She loved to attend the sports and music programs of the grandkids. She was a member of Stone Academy Preservation Group and United Methodist Church in Lisbon.
