Clark, Velma I. Brannaman

Velma I. Brannaman Clark, 90, of Lisbon, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Mechanicsville Care and Rehabilitation Center. Velma's Celebration of Life service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon, where the family will greet friends from 4 until 7 p.m. in the chapel. Velma will be buried in Lisbon Cemetery.

Surviving Velma are her children, Linda (Melvin) Crocker, Lisbon, David E. (Linda) Clark, Marion, and Gordon (Anita) Clark, Mount Vernon; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Maurice (Mildred) Brannaman, Martelle; a son-in-law, Kelly Main, Lisbon; a daughter-in-law, Julann Clark, Lisbon; and very special friends, Clarice Murphy and LaVonne Bova.

Preceding Velma in death were her parents; husband, Oliver; two sons, Harold and Warren; daughter, Annette Main; brother, Charles Brannaman; sister, Marjorie Harmel; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Littrel.

Velma was born July 28, 1922, on a farm near Sutliff, the daughter of Warren and Alma (Kadera) Brannaman. She graduated from Lisbon High School and married Oliver B. Clark on Dec. 12, 1941, in Martelle. She was active in the Phythian Sisters and the Martelle Methodist Church. Velma worked for Doc Iosty at the Lisbon Beacon Café for 15 years and retired after 15 years from U.S. Nameplate, Mount Vernon.

Her passions were her family, especially her grandchildren, and friends. Velma loved making historical scrapbooks, wedding dresses, crocheting, quilting, and kettle chicken fries.

Memorials in Velma's honor have been established.
