Henkel, Clara Blanche
Clara Blanche Henkel, 91, of Vinton, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at the Vinton Lutheran Home following an extended illness. A private family service will be held with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. A memorial fund has been established.
Clara Blanche Coy was born Oct. 16, 1919, the daughter of Ottis D. and Nellie Engeldow Coy at Shellsburg. On Feb. 12, 1938, she was united in marriage to Ted Henkel at Van Horne.
Survivors include her daughter, Louise Grant of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Junior; and two sisters, Genevieve Thiher and Edith Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, three brothers and four sisters.
