Kisner, Dale E.
Dale E. Kisner, 72, of Hiawatha, died Sept. 5, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. There will be no visitation. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Evelyn; two daughters, Laurie Burnside of Marion and Connie (Wendell) Stepanek of Cedar Rapids;, one granddaughter, Kimberly Burnside of Marion; three brothers, John Kisner, Floyd Kisner and Lawrence Kisner; three sisters, Beverly Dvorak, Gina Bergman and Dorothy Lehmkuhl; and one special pet, Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mable and Peter; and one sister, Shirley.
Dale was born June 14, 1937, in Oelwein, the son of Peter and Mable Kisner. He graduated from Loras College. He was employed by Cargill in Cedar Rapids for 36 years as a logistic manager for the east and west soybean plants in Cedar Rapids. He served in the United States Army for four years. He was very proud to have supported his country. He also was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Dale enjoyed fishing, Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals and going to the casinos to pass the time away.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all the hearts he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Luke's Hospice Foundation.
