Iowa high school girls' basketball 2019 regional brackets: 1A, 2A, 3A

The road to Wells Fargo Arena is taking shape. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released regional pairings Thursday for Classes 1A, 2A and 3A.
Regional play tips off Thursday, Feb. 7 in 1A and Saturday, Feb. 9 in 2A and 3A. Class 3A regional finals are Saturday, Feb. 18, with 1A and 2A following on Monday, Feb. 20.
Regional champions advance to the state tournament Feb. 25-March 2 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Newell-Fonda, the top-ranked team in 1A, hosts the winner of Siouxland Christian and River Valley in the Region 8 quarterfinals Tuessday, Feb. 12. 2A No. 1 Grundy Center will take on Lake Mills or Eagle Grove in the Region 3 quarterfinals that night. North Polk is currently the top-ranked team in 3A and begins the postseason Feb. 9 at home against Chariton in the Region 7 quarterfinals.
Defending 1A champion Springville is in Region 3, on the opposite side of No. 8 Janesville. The Orioles host Central City or Midland in the quarterfinals. Cascade, last year's 2A winner, is the top seed in Region 4. The sixth-ranked Cougars begin with Belle Plaine or Lisbon. Ninth-ranked Crestwood is the defending 3A champion and hosts Union Community in the Region 3 quarterfinals. The Cadets are in the same bracket as second-ranked Osage.
Pairings for 4A and 5A will be released next week.
