Finley, Daryle L.
Daryle L. Finley, 68, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, following a lengthy illness. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, with a time of remembrance to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Daryle Finley Memorial Fund.
Daryle was born on Aug. 8, 1944, in Lone Tree, Iowa, the son of Robert and Esther (Brenneman) Finley. He was a graduate of Lone Tree High School and later went on to serve in the United States Army Reserve. On Oct. 12, 1974, Daryle was married to Norma Greazel in Iowa City.
Daryle worked for Terra Chemical Plant in Muscatine, for a number of years, worked in real estate, farmed throughout his life and started Instant Green Lawn Care Service in the mid 1980s. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and truly loved the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of Iowa City; two sons, Matt (Amy) and their daughters, Ava and Addison, all of West Branch, and Mark of Iowa City; two sisters, Carol Morris of Muscatine and Sherry (Bob) Pearson of Springdale; a brother, Gary (Sandy) Finley of Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Jerry Morris; and several aunts and uncles.
