Howard, Scott C.
Scott C. Howard, 45, of Marion, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, unexpectedly. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with a luncheon following at 7814 Westbury Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Scott Clair Howard was born July 2, 1967, in Chandler, Ariz. Scott graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. He spent most of his life in the Cedar Rapids area and the last five years in Shellsburg before moving to Marion in late 2012. He had many jobs in many different fields before finding his true love of being a crane operator. He worked as a crane operator for Tri State Crane and Rigging for many years. Scott was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 234. He had a passion for computers and gaming and enjoyed watching sports and movies. Scott was an easy going care free type of guy. He was a great friend to many and would do anything for anybody. He really enjoyed spending quality time with his friends and his brother, Jamie. Scott will be missed dearly by family and friends.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Steve and Jan Howard of Cass Lake, Minn.; brother, Jamie (Angie) Howard of Shellsburg; nieces, Alyssa, Kierra and Mikayla Howard; stepbrother, Darren (Sherrie) Blakesley of Rockford, Ill.; stepnephew, Danny Blakesley; and many loved aunts, uncles and cousins, especially Brad and Gay Carpenter and “favorite” cousins, Jill and Jacy.
Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Dustin Lee Howard; and grandparents, Clair and Carolyn Howard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
