Gina Catherine (Pixler) Frederiksen, 38, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, in Cedar Rapids as a result of a homicide.
She was born Aug. 3, 1979, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Virgil and Ann (Dempster) Pixler. She married Scott Frederiksen on July 27, 2002, in Waterloo, Iowa, and they later divorced. She then married Tommy Dague on July 17, 2013.
She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1998, and earned her Associate of Applied Science Management degree from Kirkwood Community College in 2012. She had worked as an administrative assistant with Terry Lockridge & Dunn in Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy, of Cedar Rapids; a son, Carter Frederiksen at home; two daughters, Kira Frederiksen and Madeline Dague, both at home; her parents of Cedar Falls; three sisters, Julia (Matt) Niehaus of Youngsville, N.C., Diana (Patrick Stamatelos) Pixler of Altoona, Iowa, and Victoria (Quin) Duffy of Cedar Rapids; maternal grandmother, Jean Dempster of Cedar Falls; and mother-in-law, Judy Dague of Monmouth, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Anna Pixler; maternal grandfather, Arlin Dempster; and a nephew, Harrison Stamatelos.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, at Richardson Funeral Service, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and also for one hour before the service.
