Koppes, Scott Matthew
Scott Matthew Koppes, 36, of Iowa Falls, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Marks Catholic Church in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. and vigil service at 8 p.m. Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Scott Matthew Koppes was born Oct. 24, 1973, to James and Dianne (Kean) Koppes in Dubuque, Iowa. Scott attended Aquin Elementary School and graduated from Cascade High School in 1992. After high school Scott attended Clinton Community College and Hawkeye Community College. On April 20, 1996, Scott was united in marriage to Brenda Behrends at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. Scott worked as a hog buyer at Tyson Foods for 16 years.
Scott is survived by his wife, Brenda; a son, Justin; a daughter, Annika; parents, James and Dianne Koppes of Cascade, Iowa; a sister, Nekole (Dan) Frommelt of Platteville, Wis.; mother-in-law, Carol (Dave) Moline of Waterloo, Iowa; and father-in-law, DeWayne (Kathy) Behrends of Evansdale, Iowa.
Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Anna Delores (McDermott) Kean; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Erma (Kelchen) Koppes; aunt and uncle, Robert and Susan Kean; and uncle, Ronald Koppes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Iowa Falls State Bank.
