Voting machines to get tested

Voters can 'test drive” one of Linn County's new electronic voting machine at the League of Women Voters's legislative forum from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the Hallagan Center at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

The new voting machine will be available for inspection before and after the forum.

The free public forums are a venue for state representatives and senators to discuss issues of concern and to answer questions from constituents.

State Sens. Rob Hogg, Wally Horn, Liz Mathis and Dan Zumbach, Reps. Liz Bennett, Kraig Paulsen, Ken Rizer, Kirsten Running-Marquardt, Art Staed, Quentin Stanerson and Todd Taylor have been invited.

The free forums are held the third Saturday of the month while the Legislature is in session.
