He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a surgical technician at Goose Bay, Labrador. On July 14, 1944, he was united in marriage with Helen L. Following his career as a farmer and plastering contractor, he enjoyed traveling, gardening and visiting his family. Dale loved God and family. He was an avid student of the Bible as well as SDA church writings and history, acquiring a large library of books.
He is survived by his children, Edwin (Marlys) Mathis, Vernon (Kathleen) Mathis and Norman (Cheri) Mathis; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
