Rose Marie Brady passed away June 1, 2018, after a lingering illness. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd St. SE, Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place at Saint John's Cemetery.
Rose Marie was born on April 2, 1950, at Mercy Hospital, the daughter of Agnes Viktor Brady and Clyde Everett Brady.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1968 and graduated with honors from Kirkwood Community College. Rose Marie was in the first class to graduate from Kirkwood in the Occupational Therapy Assistants Program.
She was employed at the Cerebral Palsy Center - where she served as the past president of the board - Taylor Rehabilitation Center and Linnhaven, Inc. Rose served on several committees. In later years, she co-owned and operated a cleaning service. Rose was a member of First Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a beloved sister, Mildred Metzler; and many Brady and Viktor/Kuncl relatives. She is survived by her lifelong friend, Marilyn Paulson; a dear niece, Carrie Larson; eight nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and -nephews; and many Kuncl cousins.
Rose Marie was a kind and loving person. Rose and Marilyn loved to travel, visiting relatives across the United States. She loved the color purple in her clothing choices and decor.
A memorial fund has been established in care of the funeral home.
