Larry L. Walters, 69, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wis.. Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at the Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughters, Lori Wilson of Marengo and Lacie Walters of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Shayl and Caden Wilson; brothers, Glen and Jerry Walters; sisters, Janet Ruzek and Nancy Kurt; and his cat, Neko.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife, Narda.
Larry was born Sept. 25, 1946, in Oelwein, to Glen and Myra Walters. He was employed at LeFebure and John Deere in Waterloo until retiring in 2004. Larry was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of UAW for over 30 years. He was an avid NASCAR and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Larry was a mechanic at heart and always enjoyed tinkering with vehicles. He especially loved riding his motorcycle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, 7411 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
