Earl Frederick Bohlken, 93, of Marion, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Craig Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theodora "Dora" Bohlken, in 2013; and a daughter, Joyce.
Earl was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Hudson, Wis., to Frederick and Jessie Bohlken. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Earl married Dora on Aug. 26, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Dora, and family gatherings. Earl's greatest passion was flying his private plane.
Earl treasured his family, friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
