KATHLEEN MACTAGGART
North Liberty
On the afternoon of Nov. 11, 2014, Kathleen A. MacTaggart of North Liberty passed away peacefully of natural causes. Kathleen was comforted by family members at Lantern Park Nursing Home in Coralville at the time of her passing.
Kathleen was born Aug. 4, 1926, in a farmhouse in rural Hills, the daughter of Phillip Altmaier and Florence (Freswick) Altmaier. She graduated from Sharon High School in 1944. Kathleen worked at the University of Iowa in the data processing department. She lived in Goose Creek, S.C., Iowa City, Solon and North Liberty.
Kathleen was a caring, compassionate woman who loved cooking, the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with her family.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at St. Stanislaus Cemetery near Hills. Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, John MacTaggart; her son, Philip MacTaggart; brothers, Cedric Altmaier, Cecil Altmaier and Dale Altmaier; and sisters, Dorothy Hommerding and Miriam Calderon.
Kathleen is survived by her children, Robert MacTaggart of Cedar Rapids and Sylvia Odgers of Molalla, Ore.; her grandchildren, Scott MacTaggart, Erin MacTaggart, Eric Liss, Anthony Liss, Jenny Liss, John MacTaggart, Rigoberto MacTaggart, Kathleen MacTaggart and Marilyn MacTaggart; and eight great-grandchildren.
