I have known Lisa Kuzela since 2000. I was president of a neighborhood association and Kuzela was on the board.
She was then and still is a passionate person who cares deeply about Cedar Rapids.
Although her home was flooded in 2008 she worked to help hundreds of victims craft solutions to get financial help as well as eliminating obstacles for recovery.
I have watched her struggle with a stubborn City Council because she believed that there was a better way to move forward. She was correct and even though the city didn't make it easy, she refused to give up.
As a result of her persistence Cedar Rapids is a better place. I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, but moved out so I can't vote, but I strongly recommend you vote for her for the seat on the City Council.
Cedar Rapids needs a passionate, determined person to think outside the box. Some of the council has a tendency to see things in a certain way and they need someone to help them see things from a different perspective.
I wish I was a better writer so I could explain better what she has done for the city, but even though she and I didn't always agree I could count on her to bring her almost uncanny ability to use her intelligence to get any information I needed to solve whatever problems we faced.
Please vote for her on Nov. 7.
