Lynn was raised in the Tipton area and was a 1974 graduate of Tipton Community Schools. She furthered her education with a diploma from Kirkwood Community College, a baccalaureate degree from the University of Iowa and a master's degree in education from Iowa State University. Lynn began touching lives with her work in private dental practice and work at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City. She also volunteered her time and efforts on the Virginia Gay Hospital board in Vinton.
Lynn returned to her first alma mater, Kirkwood Community College, in 1981. For over 30 years she was proud to serve Kirkwood as a dental assisting instructor, director of the Benton County Centers and director of the Career Academy programs. Lynn's dedication, energy and professionalism impressed and inspired those around her. Her focused attention to detail and excellence was reflected in everything she did.
Lynn lived life to the fullest. She conquered any challenge she faced with grace and class. She loved spending time with family, friends and close colleagues. Full of energy, she enjoyed biking, walking, gardening and vacationing. Lynn touched the lives of everyone she met. Every room she entered was brightened with her smile. We were blessed to have her in our lives and will miss her more deeply than can ever be expressed.
