Reynolds wrong to support contraceptive access

Gov. Kim Reynolds has proposed over-the-counter birth control, yet she claims to oppose abortion. Does she realize that the pill can be an early abortion and it can be used to end a pregnancy?
The pill contains artificial hormones with side effects, which can cause heart attacks, strokes and death. The pill does not protect against AIDS or sexually-transmitted infections.
Because of the contraceptive failure rate, there are more pregnancies and more abortions.
Why is the state of Iowa setting aside $3.3 million of our tax money for family planning when the average woman in the U.S. has 1.8 children?
We no longer call ourselves 'pro-life.” Right to life always works for restrictions. We are abolitionists. We want to abolish abortion. With a Republican-controlled Statehouse they could have done better than a fetal heartbeat bill. Life doesn't begin with a fetal heartbeat; life begins at fertilization. Iowa farmers know that the baby calf's life began when the bull was with the cow.
