Tutwiler, MIchael Jean
Michael Jean Tutwiler, 59, conquered his suffering from cancer by passing into the loving arms of God on Dec. 24, 2012. A Memorial Service, with military honors, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service. The family will greet friends after 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice, 1025 Wade St., Iowa City or to Mercy Hospital Foundation for Mercy Hospice, 500 E. Market St., Iowa City, IA 52245.
Mike was born Feb. 6, 1953, in Danville, Ill. He was a graduate of Mid- Prairie High School in Wellman. Mike was the embodiment of the Marine, proudly serving in the Corps from 1971-77. He was a dedicated employee of Barron Motors.
His family, friends and co-workers will remember him for his generosity, his multitude of skills, hard work ethic, and his courageous spirit. Mike was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast, loved to golf and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his loving partner and companion, Cynthia McLaughlin; his son, Joshua Shane; six stepchildren, Devin Hill, Darcy Bedford, Dawn Vest, Dina (Will) Bishara, Dorine Bishara and Cherine (Ian) Bishara- Shanklin; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who dearly loved and admired him. He is also loved and remembered by aunts, uncles and cousins.
