Mullan, Stella Orra Lacey

Stella Orra Lacey Mullan, 50, of Tipton, formerly of Mechanicsville, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, from cancer. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. Graveside services: noon Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. A light lunch will be served at the Mechanicsville Memorial Building after the graveside service.

Stella was born Aug. 15, 1959, to Elvis “Bill” and Shirley Lacey, in Cedar Rapids. Stella baby-sat many children in Mechanicsville and worked for Holiday Inn and Baymont Hotels in Cedar Rapids. She loved to travel, she liked kids, and loved to play bingo and slot machines. Her smile and take-charge style will be missed by everyone. Mother Teresa will be getting a great helper.

Surviving Stella are her husband, Jon; sons, Daniel (Nicole) McMurrin of Tipton, Shane (Giovonnte) Auchenbach of Bettendorf, and Justin Mullan of Mechanicsville; daughter, Kellie (Tom) Steffenson of Lisbon; many grandchildren and one great-grandson. Stella is also survived by four sisters, Betty, Debbie and husband Keith, Rosie, and Tina; and two brothers, Rick and Billy.
