Karen Elizabeth Railsback, 76, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Seton Hayes Medical Center in Kyle, Texas.
Karen was born on Sept. 25, 1939, in Waterloo, Iowa, to William Joseph and Monica Fisher Galleger. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Canyon Lake and worked as clerk at the Canyon Lake Water Department. She loved the Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers and all Iowa Hawkeye sports, but mainly she loved her family dearly and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Mike Railsback and his wife, Cheryl, of Huffman, Texas, Philip Railsback of Katy, Texas, and Greg Railsback and his companion, Jean Meyers, both of Cypress, Texas; brother, Bob Gallager of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Beverly Joblinske of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Steven Railsback of Conroe, Texas, and James and Brandi McKnight of Spring, Texas; great-grandchildren, Colton and Kaitlyn McKnight of Spring, Texas, and Audie, Aiden and Abigail Detwiler of San Sabo, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Floyd Railsback; parents, Monica and William Galleger; brothers, Roy Galleger and Gerald Galleger; and grandson, Shane Detwiler.
A visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Sattler, Texas. The funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted immediately following at Cranes Mill Cemetery in Startzville, Texas, with a lunch to follow at the VFW Hall.
