Zach Johnson got his street; suggestion emerges anew that Kurt Warner get his

City Council member Chuck Swore has advocated for it; so, too, has perennial City Hall candidate P.T. Larson.
Now come KZIA Z102.9 and KGYM 1600 ESPN Radio in Cedar Rapids to make the case for naming a street in Cedar Rapids after native son and NFL quarterback Kurt Warner.
In a letter to City Hall, the radio stations are suggesting that a street near Warner's former high school - now Regis Middle School - be named for Warner. Among the possible choices are what now are K Avenue NE, G Avenue NE and H Avenue NE, the stations suggest.
“We think this would be a great honor for such a deserving individual,” the radio stations say.
A year ago, Swore, who was not then on the City Council, suggested naming a street alongside Kingston Stadium after Warner.
Back in 2007, Swore, then on the council, successfully pushed to name a little stretch of street that runs into Elmcrest Country Club for Cedar Rapids-native Zach Johnson. Johnson had just won the Masters Golf Tournament then and he had grown up playing golf at Elmcrest.
