CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man wants to help connect what appears to be a lost engagement ring and wedding band back to its owner.
Patrick Morrissey was Christmas shopping with his children in Northeast Cedar Rapids when he noticed a ring on the ground in front of his car.
The bonded set of a diamond and gold engagement ring and matching wedding band was appraised at $1,200 Thursday, he said.
The 39-year-old Cedar Rapids resident said he is sure the ring is "quite precious" to the owner, and would
love to help return it. He is withholding details of when and where he found the jewelry in hopes of finding its true owner.
He has reached out to authorities about the missing item, but is holding onto the ring in the meantime.
He can be reached at morse72@live.com.
