LUCILLE "LUCY JO" HARGER
Center Point
Lucille "Lucy Jo" Harger, 74, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at East Towne Care Center. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Lucy Jo was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Minnesota, the daughter of Ivyle "Ike" and Maxine (Livermore) Bower. She graduated from Fairmont High School in Minnesota. Lucy Jo worked at Collins Radio until 1983. She loved music and playing the organ. Lucy Jo rode horses in her youth and had many hobbies throughout her life. She also enjoyed playing bingo and socializing with her many, many friends at East Towne.
Lucy Jo is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Victor) Farnstrom of Shellsburg; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Suzette) Bower; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James A. Harger; and three brothers, Ronald, Charles and infant Milton Bower.
The family would like to extend a special Thank-You to the staff at St. Croix Hospice and ABCM Rehab East Towne Care Center for the kind care they provided to Lucy Jo.
