Who owns the Happy Hour Health Spa?

We have new and different information on the owner of the recently closed Happy Hour Health Spa in Cedar Rapids.

On Friday night we reported that city officials told us they thought the owner of the building was a man from Mason City. However, we've now learned that information was incorrect.

Online records from the Cedar Rapids Assessor's office show the last time it changed hands was back in 2003. Online records from Linn County Recorders Office show it was passed to an Illinois corporation, which happens to share the same name as the one in Mason City.

The Illinois corporation is not listed with Iowa's Secretary of State, and according to the Illinois Secretary of State, it was dissolved in 2005. The Linn County Recorders online documents show that corporation is led by Timothy Lee Lewis, from Fairview Heights, Illinois.

A phone listing for Lewis could not be found, and city officials weren't available to confirm the latest discovery.
