Marvin Wendell Witt, 90, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at the Vinton Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton, with the Rev. Mark Leckband officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Keystone Cemetery.
Marvin was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Keystone, Iowa, the son of John and Elizabeth Feuerbach Witt. He attended country school in rural Keystone.
On Aug. 4, 1946, Marvin was united in marriage with Ruth R. Kithcart in Keystone. The couple farmed in the Garrison area before moving to Vinton in 1973. Marvin then worked as a bus driver and mechanic for the Vinton school district, retiring in 1990.
Marvin was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Garrison. He enjoyed square dancing, rebuilding tractors, metalworking and playing dartball.
Marvin is survived by one son, Larold (Diana Moreno-Witt) Witt of Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Arlys (Stephen) Kness of West Des Moines; one sister, Lylas Sindt; one sister-in-law, Juanita Witt; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth, on March 11, 2010; and four brothers, Elmer, Lloyd, Leland and Clarence Witt.
A memorial fund has been established.
