John "Jack" Tinker, 83, of Manchester, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gladys Tinker; five children, Sharon Tinker of Houston, Texas, Gene Tinker of Edgewood, Randy Tinker of Des Moines, Dennis (Susan) Tinker of Johnston and Phyllis Tinker of Ankeny; five grand-children, Logan, Spencer, Peyton, Jacob and Ben Tinker; one sister, Mary Ellen Capesius of Dubuque; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Larry Tinker; his brothers, Philip, Francis (Shirley), Joseph and Thomas; and a brother-in-law, Robert Capesius.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester. Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Manchester, with a Scripture service at 2 p.m., followed by the rosary. Friends also may call one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment, with military rites: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Greeley.
