Cedar Rapids sets 'meet and greet' events for new city manager
Mar. 22, 2011 7:35 am
The city is holding three open houses in the next few weeks to give residents the opportunity to meet Jeff Pomeranz, who has served as Cedar Rapids' city manager since September.
The events are all planned for 6 to 7:30 p.m. They will be held March 31 at Jefferson High School, 1243 20th St. SW; April 7 at Kennedy High School, 4545 Wenig Rd. NE; and April 14 at Washington High School, 2205 Forest Dr. SE.
Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. each night, and Pomeranz will speak at 6:30 p.m. about his previous experience, his current role and the status of major city projects. An open question-and-answer session will follow until 7:30 p.m.
The open houses were originally scheduled for early February but were canceled because of bad weather.
Pomeranz was city manager of West Des Moines before coming to Cedar Rapids.
