John was born Aug. 15, 1942, in Waukesha, Wis., the son of Stanley and Mildred (Peterson) Gagnon. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant and tank commander during the Vietnam War. He was very proud he was able to bring all of his men home safe.
John was manager for Brad Ragan Tire, and then, the last 15 years, he managed Eastern Iowa Tire.
He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed going to the Indianapolis 500 for many years. John enjoyed his many motorized toys and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Jane Gagnon.
A very special thank you to Dr. Nabi, Dr. McBride, the staff at St. Luke's Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Hospice of Mercy, and countless others for the care and compassion given to John during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
Please share your support and condolences with John's family on his celebration wall at www.stewartbaxter.com.
