Xavier hires Chambers as wrestling coach

Cedar Rapids Xavier has hired Ryan Chambers to become the Saints new wrestling coach, according to a news release Friday by Athletics Director Mike Winker. Chambers replaces Craig Kadlec, who resigned after the 2010-11 season.

Coach Chambers is a native of Webster City. Ryan was an All State Football player and a two time State Wrestling Qualifier at Webster City High School. Ryan placed 3rd at state in his senior year at 171 pounds.

Ryan is a graduate of the University of Iowa where he wrestled. Ryan was a three year letter winner under legendary Iowa Coach Dan Gable.

Ryan has been an assistant wrestling coach at Xavier the past two seasons. Ryan will also be an assistant football coach next season at Xavier on Coach Duane Schulte's staff.
