Holmes, Meredith Rose Stoeber

Meredith Rose Stoeber Holmes, 34, of 3420 Random Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, died suddenly on July 31, 2013, and went home to be with the Lord. Her friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Aug. 6 at 10 a.m., and a memorial service at the chapel at 11 a.m., presided by Tim Hunter of Keys to Living.

Meredith was born on March 6, 1979, in Iowa City. She was the daughter of Marilyn and Stephen Stoeber. She grew up with one brother, Alex McCall Holmes of Cedar Rapids. Meredith's mother remarried following the death of her father in 1993 and married Thomas Holmes, who adopted Meredith at age 18. She gained four brothers and three sisters, Oliver, Sylvia, Emily, Randall, Jessica, William and James Holmes. Meredith was the proud mother of four children, Elizabeth (Kayla), Gavin, Noah and Toni Holmes.

Meredith was a kind and generous young woman who loved her friends and family. She was known for her big heart and willingness to help others in need. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Meredith shared her parents' faith in God and His goodness.
