Pimlott, The Rev. George
The Rev. George Pimlott, 96, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Per his wishes there will be no services. His body has been cremated. Arrangements are by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services.
Survivors include three sons, Ed Pimlott of Ogden, James (Carolyn) Pimlott of Cedar Rapids and Walter (Kathleen) Pimlott of Brooklyn Center, Minn.; sister, Margaret Morgan of Catlin, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Pat Pimlott of St. Lucas; 12 grandchildren, Christine, Laura, Sarah, Michael, Kate, Ben, Carol, Ken, Jason, Kate, Shannon and Stacy; and 10 great-grandchildren.
George was born March 14, 1916, in Ordway, Colo., the son of Francis “Frank” and Crystal (Gilbert) Pimlott. On Aug. 31, 1941, he married Alberta Young in Litchfield, Ill. He was a graduate of McKendree University and the Iliff School of Theology, where he received his Master of Divinity. George was a pastor in the United Methodist Church for 40 years, serving in Iowa at Linden UMC in Waterloo, Grace UMC in Marcus, Nashua UMC in Nashua, and St. James UMC in Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, David; sister, Dorothy Shook; and brothers, Charles and Walter Pimlott.
