Richey, Cindy Sue
CENTRAL CITY - Cindy Sue Richey, 46, of Central City, went to her eternal home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Harmony United Church of Christ in Zwingle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Cindy was born Oct. 17, 1963, in Dubuque, the daughter of James and Carol Ann Horch Sutter. At a young age she started her career at Sutter's Bakery with her dad. She then met her husband, Tom, at the Sweetheart Bakery in Dubuque. They were married at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on April 3, 1982. She continued her baking career throughout her life.
Cindy enjoyed camping, baking and spending time with family, especially her granddaughter and cat “Wiskers.”
Cindy is survived by her husband, Tom Charles Richey of Central City; three children, Thomas Jr. (Brooke) Richey of Mount Vernon, Nicole Richey (Breck Raim) of Springville and Crystal Richey of Central City; granddaughter, Kaylee Raim; parents, James and Carol Sutter of Hazel Green, Wis.; six brothers, James Jr., Fredrick and Troy, all of Hazel Green, Wis., William, Robert of East Dubuque, Ill., and Samuel (Debra) of Phoenix, Ariz.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Wilfred “Grandpa Grouch” Sutter of Dubuque.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund had been established in her name at 238 Broadway Ave., Central City, IA 52214.
Following Cindy's request, the family asks that you wear colorful clothing to celebrate her life here on earth.
