Morean "Mo" Vanous, 70, of Lisbon, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, by Pastor Karen Nelson. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery.
Survivors include her sister, Janean
King (Boyd); daughter-in-law, Jean Vanous; three grandchildren, Josh, Shea and Tyler Vanous; two great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Morean Plattenberger was born April 18, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, to Roy and Betty (Johnson) Plattenberger. She married John E. Vanous on March 7, 1970, in Lisbon. Mo was a beautician for many years, and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends. She was a member of Lisbon United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Edward.
A memorial fund has been established.
