Virginia M. "Ginny" Ressler, 75, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Friends and relatives of Ginny may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at

2:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Services for Ginny will be held at

10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

She was born April 1, 1943, in Monticello, Iowa, daughter of Elmer and Violet (Rahe) O'Shea. She is a graduate of the former Aquin High School in Cascade, Iowa. She also is a graduate of Kirkwood Community College, where she received her LPN degree. She was employed as a LPN at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque for several years. On Nov. 14, 1964, she was united in marriage to John Ressler at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa.

She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade and a member of TEAM HOPE.

She is survived by her husband, John Ressler of Cascade, Iowa; seven children, Tim (Melissa) Ressler of Solon, Iowa, Jacob (Jill) Ressler of Swisher, Iowa, Missy (Jose) Torres of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Marty (Sarah) Ressler of Solon, Iowa, Chris Ressler of Ely, Iowa, Tony (Jen) Ressler of Independence, Iowa, and Andrea "Annie" (David) Lamont of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Mary (Paul) Ehlinger, Carol Recker and Susie (Dave) Kraus, all of Cascade, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sister Janet O'Shea; a brother-in-law, Ronald Recker; one niece, Paula Ehlinger; and one nephew, Mike Recker.
