Donald Sladek of Iowa City passed away on Dec. 15, 2018, after a long illness.
His family includes his mother, Phyllis Sladek; sisters, Deb Sladek and Kay Evans; nephew, Brian Evans; great-niece, Cheyanne Evans; and great-nephew, Skyler Evans; sister, Susan (Jim) Leiser; nephew, Wesley (Dawn) Leiser; great-niece, Athena; and great-nephew, Austin; niece, Amy (Jason) McCarry; great-nephews, Tony and James Vega; great-niece, Kailey McCarry; sisters, Jeannie (David) Rivas and Rosan (Clint) Walters; brothers, Mike Bombei and Pat Bombei.
Don is preceded in death by his father, Ralph C. Sladek; and Chuck Bombei.
Don owned Mid Town Glass, which he opened 35 years ago. Don had many wonderful and close friends, including Elainia and Monte Admundson, Nancy and Daryl Lenz, Jeff Hayes and many others.
There will be a time for family and friends to gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Gay and Chia Funeral and Cremation Services.
