MARILYN E. (RUDIN) CHMELICEK
Omaha, Neb.
Marilyn was born Sept. 8, 1927, and died Feb. 12, 2018. She passed away peacefully from her long journey with Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Chmelicek; parents, Edward C. and Ivaloo Rudin; brother and sister-in-law, Cordell and Patricia Rudin; brothers-in-law, Joseph Chmelicek and Vernon Flint; and son-in-law, Robert Behounek.
She is survived by children, Linda Behounek of Papillion, Neb., and Larry Chmelicek (Sherry Schneekloth) of Fairfax, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Darlene Chmelicek and Mildred Flint; grandchildren, Randy, Stacie, Jeremy, Megan and Garrett; and great-grandchildren, Marissa, Rylee, Harper, Finley and Stella.
Marilyn was a longtime supporter of the El Kahir Shrine Temple, the Cedar Rapids Sokol, and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Marilyn will be remembered for her loving devotion to her husband and family. Her beautiful and infectious laugh and smile will be missed.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Cedar Memorial.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, Feb. 17, 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with interment at Cedar Memorial Mausoleum
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer's Society, the El Kahir Shrine Transportation Fund, or Czech National & Slovak Museum.
