Open discussions produce best results

To the editor:
The biased, one-sided Gazette report about Sun Valley flooding protection only shows that most people can be fooled most of the time if you limit participation ('Sun Valley gets its flash-flood fix,” April 20).
An assembly of those who can't read or understand engineering plans usually reaches the conclusion suggested to it. During my decades as a consulting engineer, open participation and discussions produced the best results.
The many erroneous canceled plans, the errors and omissions in the existing facilities, plus the matrix report findings, should put The Gazette on the side of seeking the reality in government inefficiency and waste.
Why does the public so seldom see sewergate type reporting? Is unquestioned support the price that Gazette reporters pay for access to story information from city sources?
