A 36-year-old Cedar Rapids woman, accused of stabbing her boyfriend who was trying to break up with her last month, pleaded not guilty in a written arraignment Aug. 12 in Linn County District Court.
Contina Foster is charged with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon in the stabbing of Julius Trammell, 37, of Cedar Rapids.
According to a criminal complaint, Foster stabbed Trammell numerous times. He had 17 stitches for stab wounds to his back and arms. He also had a small cut on his throat.
Trammell told The Gazette he was stabbed while out walking his dog. He said a car pulled up and Foster, who he wanted to break up with, approached him. They argued, he turned away and then felt pain as she stabbed him.
