Green Square deserves more than status quo

I notice The Gazette's artist rendering of proposed changes to Greene Square is little different from the earlier one pictured some months ago. I know public input was invited, but really nothing changed the original concept and layout.
This final plan contains the usual walking path, picnic tables and swings common throughout our community. What I was hoping for was something different. Couldn't we have a single park reserved as a place for reflection, art and beauty with park benches and unencumbered surroundings?
Who can argue the merits to having a playground or picnic tables or walking trail? I can't, but I can observe, more often than not, playgrounds without participants and eating areas with debris and perimeter park sidewalks really could work for exercise.
Greene Square is a unique space and deserved a more sophisticated vision.
