Robert D. Sacora, 75, of 2225 Chandler St. SW, tried to force a 15-year-old male to touch his genitals last weekend at a Marion cemetery, according to court documents.
Sacora was charged after the incident Sunday at Oak Shade Cemetery in the 700 block of Second St., according to the complaint charging him with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. The incident happened while the two were sitting in Sacora's car.
Sacora was charged with lascivious acts with a child in February 2003 after he “solicited a 9-year-old boy to touch his genitals,” according to the complaint filed in that case. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to time served and five years' probation. He was also ordered to undergo offender treatment.
Sacora was banned from his custodian's job at Good News Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids after that arrest. As a condition of his sentencing, he's also banned from jobs in which he may have contact with children or dependent adults, and cannot enter or loiter near schools, playgrounds, and similar facilities, according to his listing on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.
Sacora remains in the Linn County Jail. Bail is set at $3,500 cash.
