Kathryn "Kathy" A. Deutchman, 70, of Marion, formerly of Elk River, Minn., passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 21, 2015. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Believers in Grace Fellowship Church, Marion, by Pastor Bill Randles. Inurnment: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald; daughters, Jennifer (Jon) Houtman and Stephanie (Ken) Highley; grandchildren, Joshua Highley, Jacob Highley, Connor Houtman and Owen Houtman; and brother, Michael Kamb.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy was born July 20, 1944, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of George and Margaret (St. Germain) Kamb. She graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1962, and married Ronald Deutchman on Oct. 18, 1969, in Minneapolis.
Kathy doted on her four grandsons, who brought joy to her life. She had a generous spirit that expanded to include the "family of her heart." Kathy was a devoted Christian and lifelong servant of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation in Kathy's memory.
